To be honest it's always been vampires and the like that have held my supernatural interest more than anything else; werewolves were never usually my thing. But that all changed completely with this epic series from Canada's Space Channel (aired in the US on SyFy). Based on the successful novels by Kelley Armstrong, Bitten is a tale that revolves around the rarest werewolf there is: a woman named Elena Michaels. Why is she rare? She is the only woman ever known to have been bitten by a werewolf and survived. But more than that, she then went on to become an absolute powerhouse of bright, strong and feminine kickassery (it's a word if I say it's a word dammit). But ultimately it's a life she is desperate to escape; she just wants to be human in a human world: one that isn't dominated by pack politics and supernatural horror.
