HeForShe Campaign
Compassion

Like Watoto, Compassion is a Christian initiative founded deeply in the desire to do one thing: lift children all over the world out of poverty, in the spirit of Christ's grace. Through child sponsorship, it enables not just the child but also their community to gain access to many of the things we so freely take for granted, like education, safe drinking water and medical assistance. The vast majority of funds donated, too, go directly to the people & communities in need.

HeForShe is a UN Women 'solidarity initiative' - championed so powerfully by actress Emma Watson recently in a speech to the UN council - designed to promote gender equality by asking men to champion women's rights with the same fervour as women do, and vice versa. It aims to promote equality in both education and the workforce around the world, as well as aid in the fight against domestic violence and abuse.

The philosophy of the TEAR Foundation is actually based on the favourite bible version of my late of earth, currently of heaven grandmother. Micah 6:8: Act justly, love mercy, walk humbly. It's an initiative borne out of a desire to actively seek out and support and uplift the poorer and poverty stricken communities of the world. For as little as $5, you can go online and buy a chicken to provide a family with food, or for $70 give women access to safer birthing and infant care.

Beyond Blue

Depression and anxiety are, in 2014, considered by the World Health Organisation (WHO) to be the world's biggest causes of disability. This cause is particularly close to my heart, and many people that I love, respect and admire have faced it in the course of their lifetimes. BeyondBlue is an Australian mental health initiative born out of that WHO declaration, and is designed to not only support people dealing with mental health issues, but also facilitate education and awareness in the wider community.

Watoto

The Watoto story is a formidable one: one that began when founder Gary Skinner was confronted with the humanitarian crisis facing millions of orphaned and vulnerable children in present-day, wartorn Uganda. Through education; medical intervention; trauma counselling; and spiritual encouragement and nourishment, Watoto is founded primarily in restoring hope to a land and a generation where hope has been scarce for many generations.
